If you want to study in university in the UK, the International English Language Testing System (IELTS English Test) is now the only way to gain entrance into any of the British universities

An IELTS score of 6.0 to 7.0 is usually the standard score required to make sure that your application to university in the UK is accepted. This is great news for most students planning on studying in the UK because it takes away all the confusion involved in which test to take.

All you need to do is book an IELTS test

IDP IELTS is a testing centre where most of the IELTS tests are held in Thailand. The main testing centre is found in the same place as Insight, which holds IELTS courses in Silom Road in Bangkok.

It is easy to book an IELTS test with the IDP centre

Strategies to Passing your IELTS Test

Your strategy to passing IELTS is going to be lots of hard work and studying. To gain a 6.0 to a 7.0 score, you will need to be committed to learning English for at least 3 to 6 months. This time line depends entirely on how good your English skills are.

Q: If my English skills are already very good, can I pass the test sooner than 3 months?
The answer is yes, but you cannot pass the test without at least some studying. In the UK, IELTS handed out the IELTS test to English citizens that volunteered to take the test. None of these people had seen the IELTS test before and none of them had studied it. In fact, there were a large number of people that had never heard of the IELTS test because English people do not need to take an IELTS test!

The Result

Around 90% of the people that took the IELTS test received score of between 4.5 and 5.5. This is because you have to prepare for the IELTS test. One of the main reasons is because people do not read the questions properly.

‘One strategy you really need to get right is learning to read questions properly and understand the questions. When you understand the question 100%, then you can answer the question properly’

For example, if the test says ‘Write TRUE or FALSE’

If you write ‘T’ for your answer, it will be marked as incorrect. Even if the answer to the question is ‘True’ you would still be marked wrong.

Why?

Because you needed to follow the instructions and write ‘TRUE’ in the full word.
